Nothing better than winning a poker tournament?

I’ve won a few poker tournaments in my day and I believe there is no greater feeling than winning a poker tournament. The odds are against you and you come through. I get such a sense of accomplishment from winning poker tournaments. I get that feeling from nothing else. So do you all agree? Nothing feels better than winning a poker tournament? Not even sex.
Yeah, maybe I overexagerated about the sex part. I just won a poker tournament last night. It felt great.

I will take sex over winning a tournament unless the tourney is for big money. I have won some tournaments before but it is a big let down sometimes because you go on a rough spot and you try and repeat again, so it can be frustrating sometimes. But you are right it is fun to win.

Well, winning poker tournies is a good feeling. Not sure if it beats sex, but it ranks right behind sex. Right there next to taking a really long pee after you’ve had to hold it for a while.

Yeah I just won a free pub poker tournament and got $800. I beat out 25 people to make the finals, and then beat 19 other finalists to win. When I made the final table I had $2,500 out of $90,000 chips in play, there was only one person with a smaller stack than me. I worked my way back, took the chip lead and took it down. Ended up heads up with the woman who stole my chips earlier. By the time we were down to the last five I had over $60,000. Considering it was a winner takes all tournament it was nice to get that chip lead.

I agree that there is a wonderful feeling to win a tournament. I’ve never won more than $2,500 so far, but I’ve only been playing since 2003, and only started doing tournaments in the last year.

I’ll have to disagree on the sex issue though. Although winning the WSOP main event might be better than sex!

Although there are many things that feel as good or better to winning a poker tournament I’ve found little else that can safely match the emotional highs and lows you feel during a tournament. From the excitement of peaking at your cards and seeing pocket aces to the frustration of having those ace cracked for the third time in a row. Or how about going all in only to find out your hand is dominated by the person who calls and then catching a lucky river card? Good stuff!
