vegas casinos have all denominations of chips, ranging from $1 to $1000 chips. it all depends on the table you’re at and how much you wager against what the table minimum is.

they’ll be in whole dollars, no cents so you’ll have $1, $5, $10…

chips from one dollar up……pick the table with the min. amount you want to bet…..they all have small signs w/ that info. sitting on them…………….

$1,5,10,25,100,500,1000,5000, then you get high roller chips.

Table limits are posted but you can get higher limits. Binions of downtown once said they would take any bet. It might be true of any casino provided you have the money.

Here are the only chip denominations I have seen in Las Vegas at the Blackjack tables.

1, 2.50, 5, 25, 100, 500, 1000.

The very low limit tables sometimes also have half dollars in the tray.

Each table has the maximum and minimum allowable bets posted on a sign at the table, usually to the dealer’s right. You can find games from $2 minimum to $500 hundred minimum ( or more ) and maximums between $100 and sky high, lol.

You may bet any amount between the minimum and maximum.

Most Casinos that I’ve been to have:

$1, 5, 25, 100, 500, and 1000 chips at normal tables. They do have higher denomination chips for high rollers.

Some Casinos use special Dollar coins instead of chips, and some tables have quarters available if the need is there.

As for limits, you’ll find all sorts of limits available. If the limits aren’t enough for you, simply ask the pit bosses and see if they’ll raise the limits for you.

Las Vegas casinos generally have $1, $5, $25, $100, and $500 chips. It depends on their table limits. I worked at one casino in which the highest denomination was $100. I have worked in another casino with 25 cent chips.

Casinos on the strip will usually have a $5,000 table limit and regularly keep $500, $1,000 chips in the rack (on the table). If they need $5000 chips the can get them from the cashier. There are also $25,000 and $100,000 chips in the baccarat rooms at strip casinos.

In some baccarat rooms there is a regular $15,000 limit and for large gamblers the limits can be rasied. I have seen players bet as much as $250,000 a hand.

The $1,000 chips and higher denominations are often baccarat chips, slightly larger than other chips. For a short while the London Club (now closed) had plaques, rectangular chips the size of playing cards or larger. which are commonplace in Europe.

On rare occasions you will see $10 chips used in poker rooms, $3 and $8 commemorative chips, and $2.50 chips we cal two-fers.

On the other side are table minimums. You will easily find a $5 minimum in downtown Las Vegas and $10 to $25 minimum on he strip. In some casinos away from tourist areas you can find $1 minimum blackjack and craps.

Typically 1,5,10,25,100,500,1000,5000 That is on the main floor. You will find chips as high as a million dollars in ‘special’ areas of the casino…I’ll never see one though!
